Must try food in the Bay of Kotor

Must try food in the Bay of Kotor!

When in Rome, do as the Romans do – an old, but true proverb. The best way to explore a new country and to truly feel it is to eat what locals do!

We can help you with our recommendations of some good restaurants, some are already famous, but some are hidden secrets and they work on reservation only.

No matter what you choose, we kindly suggest you try some of our local delicacies. Montenegrin cuisine is full.flavored, Mediterranean, with our little specialties.

For breakfast, try our Montenegrin prosciutto and cheese and try „priganice“! They are small, round, deep-fried pastries often served as a snack or dessert, sometimes dusted with powdered sugar or served with honey.

For lunch, try “pasticada”! It is a slow-cooked beef dish marinated in a sweet and sour sauce, typically served with gnocchi or mashed potatoes.
For dessert, do not miss “krempita” or “dobrotska torta”. Both are traditional cakes from the heart of the Bay of Kotor. Krempita is more creamy, while Dobrotska torta is more of a dry cake.

For dinner, choose fish with “blitva sa krompirom” or “dalmatinsko varivo” (eng. Swiss chard with potatoes), it will be a good choice for some light summer dinner.
